Deriving an accurate calcium carbonate content for oolitic aragonite is dependent on various factors, to include the material state (raw or processed), the method the content was derived (calculation or measurement), the accuracy of measuring equipment, or environmental factors. The same dependencies are found in deriving an accurate calcium carbonate content for calcite and limestone, however, oolitic aragonite as a pure and natural material has the highest concentration of calcium carbonate of any minerals. Calcium carbonate content in oolitic aragonite can run in the ranges of 94% to 98%.
